Smt. Roshan Jacob Division Commissioner of Lucknow. she is from a Famous City “Tiruvantpuram ” in Kerala State. She was given the position of commissioner on 2022. She qualified and was allotted the first post in 2004. She has been a great workaholic and  managed to keep his reputation clean. She is a notable face in the city and has managed the city very well. Roshan Jacob was born in Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of Kerala. On 1978 She is the only child of her parents. Her parents, Mother Aleyamma Varghese and Father TK Jacob were also  Government employees in kerala.

Jacob is married to her batch mate. Dr Arindam Bhattacharya, an Indian foreign service officer, posted with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) in Delhi. She is a mother of two childrens a son and a daughter.

Jacob’s early education were finished at Sarvodaya Vidyalaya in Thiruvananthapuram. After that she take a bachelor of arts degree in English from Government  college for women. and she done her master of arts degree also in English from kerala University.

Belongs from Kerala, Jacob has a place with a non-Hindi talking state. And coming to a state like Uttar Pradesh, she plays excellent role of a public worker. During this, she did numerous managerial works for which he has been getting appreciation now and again. IAS Roshan Jacob accomplished her Ph.D. while still an IAS. Roshan is additionally enamored with composing poetry. Her poetry collection in English – A Handful of Stardust was released in the year 2012 by Congress leader Shashi Tharoor.

IAS Roshan Jacob, is a 2004 batch IAS officer, who took charge responsibility as the in-charge District Magistrate of Lucknow on April, 17 while the serving DM tried positive for Coronavirus. Jacob was first posting in UP was as a trial IAS official in Jhansi.

Apart from working in different departments, Jacob also went on to become District Magistrate (DM) of Basti, Gonda, Kanpur Nagar, Rae Bareli and Bulandshahar

She has done her PhD as an UGC – Junior Research Fellow (JRF). Jacob completed PhD while in service.

She is also the diplomat who is credited with being the first Indian to compose a book in Mandarin Chinese.

She is got the position of the first women director of Uttar Pradesh’s Mining Department

Apart from working in different departments, Jacob also went on to become District Magistrate (DM) of Basti, Gonda, Kanpur Nagar, Rae Bareli and Bulandshahar.
